MOT in Bexleyheath, handled from start to finish

Drop your car with us on Princes Street and we'll take care of the whole MOT for you. We book the test in, take the car over, and bring it back. You don't have to ring round for a slot, sit in a waiting room, or deal with anyone but us.

If it fails, that's where it gets easier rather than harder. We carry out the repair work ourselves here at the garage, then take the car back for the retest. Most people never see the test centre at all. They drop the car off, and they pick it up with a pass.

One drop-off, one collection, and one garage to speak to.

What we check

What's included in your MOT

An MOT covers over 60 checks across your vehicle's safety and emissions systems. These are the main areas tested:
  • Brakes & Brake Fluid
  • Steering & suspension
  • Exhaust emissions
  • Windscreen & wipers
  • Lights & indicators
  • Tyres & wheel condition
  • Seatbelts & airbags
  • Horn & mirrors
We look after MOTs for drivers across Bexleyheath, Welling, Erith, Sidcup, Bexley, Barnehurst, Crayford, Blackfen and Welling alogn with the surrounding DA postcode areas.

If You Pass

You'll get your certificate and the new expiry date goes onto the DVSA database automatically. We'll ring you when the car's ready to collect.

If You Fail

You'll get a clear, itemised list of what failed and what came up as an advisory. We'll talk you through it, tell you what it costs, and get your say-so before we touch anything. The repairs happen here at our workshop, then the car goes back for its retest.

Faulty brakes are a common failure for a vehicle's MOT, but simple things such as wipers or a blown bulb can also cause a fail. For these things we recommend regular vehicle servicing so you're not caught out on MOT testing day.

Common Questions

MOT FAQ

When does my car need an MOT?
Cars over 3 years old require an annual MOT. The due date is shown on your V5C and on the DVSA website.
Can I drive my car to the MOT if it's expired?
You can drive to a pre-booked MOT appointment even with an expired certificate, provided the vehicle is not dangerous to drive.
How early can I book my MOT?
Up to one month before expiry, your new certificate will still run from the original expiry date, so you don't lose any time.
What's the difference between an MOT failure and an advisory?
An MOT failure means that you cannot legally drive your car anymore as there is a serious fault or issue that needs addressing immediately. An advisory still allows your vehicle to pass its MOT, but acts as a warning to the driver that it could develop into a serious issue in the future and should be looked into.
What happens if my car fails?
We'll give you a full itemised report and talk you through what's needed. We carry out the repairs here at our workshop, then take the car back for its retest.
Do you carry out MOT repairs on the same day?
Often, depending on what's failed and whether the parts are in. We'll always give you a realistic timescale rather than a hopeful one.
Do you do the MOT test yourselves?
The test itself is carried out at an approved test centre we work with. We handle everything around it: booking, getting the car there, any repairs it needs, and the retest. You deal with us throughout.
Can I have a service and an MOT at the same time?
Yes, and it works out cheaper. A full service is £250 plus VAT and an MOT on its own is £50. Book them together and the MOT is included at no extra cost. You drop the vehicle off once and collect it serviced, tested and ready to go.
